 Reading Better than Happiness The True Antidote to Discontent Gregory Smith I was reminded of the Black Summer of 2019 Bushfires.

Pre Australia acknowledging the Covid Pandemic and the states implementing Lockdown Health Measures, we were tackling Bushfires around Sydney.

The Air was so thick it got in engine of this Bus on Parramatta Road. The driver Stopped at Bus Stop (at Bridge Road School) and let passengers off.
 

The bus stop is opposite the Annandale Westconnex Dive site ["Exhibition Start-End Date  - A rezoning proposal for the site at 160-186 Parramatta Road and 79-95 Pyrmont Bridge Road, Annandale is on exhibition for public feedback until Monday 8 September 2025.

The proposal from Landcom seeks to amend the planning controls in the Inner West Local Environmental Plan 2022 to rezone the site from General Industrial (E4) to Mixed Use (MU1) and increase height and floor space to facilitate the development of a mixed use precinct and a central plaza.

This proposal is of state significance as it will facilitate up to 580 homes, with 220 homes for essential workers, ideally located near the Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital.

The Department is responsible for exhibiting the draft plans, gathering feedback, and undertaking assessment of the proposal.

White's Creek Catchment in the Rain

Checked out White's Creek Catchment in the rain with a few long time residents including an 82 year old who was born at the Private Hospital where the Leichhardt Bolo is and moved to where she lives now when she was 1. She has seen a few changes and people come and go.    Ferris Lane looked fabulous!    The new lintel in Ferris Street seemed to be working well - residents have worked with council to make this happen along with cleaning out nearby drains and gutters.   Evan Jones Playground had a tree down. And a few other trees need mulching.     Water was flowing out of the grate where Styles Street crosses White's Creek and different drivers approached the puddle. May 2016 : Inner West Council was proclaimed on 12th day of May 2016 amalgamating Leichhardt, Marrickville and Ashfield Councils. Richard Pearson was appointed as the Administrator during initial period.
