  C1222(2) Item 19         Notice of Motion: Development of Flood Plains Motion: (Da Cruz) That Council:   1.     Acknowledges the serious risk that flooding presents to communities in an era of changing climate; 2.     Fully supports the measures already incorporated into IWC plans and strategies to protect communities in the Inner West from flooding risks, especially through the diligent application of those measures in planning decisions; and 3.     Not support any planning proposal which has the effect of significantly increasing residential density in mapped flood planning areas. A landbridge is proposed to connect the Rozelle Bay Light Rail Station in Annandale to the Rozelle Railyards over City West Link. Singapore has a "landbridge" which connects the Gardens on the Bay in Singapore to Marina Bay Sands  

Local Planning for Local Communities Consultation on the next stage of the LEP and DCP is currently on hold. Council has halted all work on the housing studies in Dulwich Hill, Marrickville and North Ashfield, following a unanimous Council resolution at the Council meeting on 13 September to halt the process. Councillors played no role in the preparation of those studies and were not briefed on them prior to their release.
