"Inner Wests waste charges are determined by the size of the red lid garbage bin.

The following domestic waste management charges are current from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025:

  • Small garbage bin (less than 120 litres): $397.50 p.a.
  • Standard garbage bin (120 litres): $530.00 p.a.
  • Large garbage bin (240 litres): $795.00 p.a.
  • Vacant/availability: $265.00 p.a.

Note: Council has delegated the General Manager the authority to write off additional fees to increase the size of any existing red lid garbage bin, extra collections and weekly 120 litre red bin collections within the Domestic Waste Management service from the FOGO Food Recycling commencement date (from 9 October 2023), for a period of up to 2 years to allow households to transition to fortnightly garbage and FOGO.".. https://www.innerwest.nsw.gov.au/live/information-for-residents/rates/domestic-waste-management-charges

White's Creek Catchment in the Rain

Checked out White's Creek Catchment in the rain with a few long time residents including an 82 year old who was born at the Private Hospital where the Leichhardt Bolo is and moved to where she lives now when she was 1. She has seen a few changes and people come and go.    Ferris Lane looked fabulous!    The new lintel in Ferris Street seemed to be working well - residents have worked with council to make this happen along with cleaning out nearby drains and gutters.   Evan Jones Playground had a tree down. And a few other trees need mulching.     Water was flowing out of the grate where Styles Street crosses White's Creek and different drivers approached the puddle. May 2016 : Inner West Council was proclaimed on 12th day of May 2016 amalgamating Leichhardt, Marrickville and Ashfield Councils. Richard Pearson was appointed as the Administrator during initial period. Vanessa Chan (former GM Ashfield Council) was appointed Interim general manager and Peter Head (former GM Leichhardt Council) and Brian Barrett (former GM Marrickville Council) deputy general managers of the new council.
