Making Pedestrian Crossing Points safer (3 Feb 2022)

Just submitted this to the centre for Road Safety  https://roadsafety.transport.nsw.gov.au/contactus/

The current thinking on making crossing points safer for pedestrians seems to be narrowing the road on both sides.

I think it would be safer if the road was divided with a pedestrian refuge enabling pedestrians to cross in two stages.

A Pedestrian refuge at the centre of zebra crossings would also increase safety.
